To be eligible for funding, you must:

• be a Canadian citizen or permanent resident (landed immigrant)

• be a resident of Manitoba, according to program policy

• attend an approved program at an approved institution

• register as a full-time student, taking at least 60% of a full course load (at least 18 credit hours), and maintain satisfactory progress and attendance

• read the Notice of Assistance carefully and supply Student Aid with all needed information

• not be in default of previous Canada Student Loan or Manitoba Student Loan assistance

• demonstrate financial need according to program criteria and allowance levels

At the time this was written, the maximum amount of federal Canada Student Loan assistance was $210 per week of study. The maximum provincial Manitoba Student Loan assistance was $140 per week of study. For those students who are eligible, a non-repayable provincial Canada Access Grant for students from low-income families is available.  For more information regarding Financial Aid, please contact:

Remember that family income (parental income, for most students) will affect your eligibility for financial aid. Remember also that for most students, all financial aid will be in the form of loans which must be repaid with interest when your program of studies has ended or you drop below the minimum course load.
